Jane Holzer (October 23, 1940 – ) grew up in Palm Beach, Florida and deliberately flunked out of college to become a model at the age of 19. Her career took off in 1963 in London, and by the next year Tom Wolfe wrote an essay proclaiming her The Girl of the Year.  Famous for her big hair and embrace of contemporary fashion, she was dubbed “Baby Jane” Holzer.  She regularly appeared in Andy Warhol’s early films, and also in Ciao Manhattan with Edie Sedgwick and her connection to Warhol led to a prodigious art collection, including Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring.
